Hours:   20 hours weekly, the hours will vary Monday through Friday between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm  depending on the court dockets.

Job Summary:   Provides clerical support and record keeping to the Municipal Court.

Essential Functions:
Regular and timely attendance at work.

Files documents alphabetically in appropriate filing system.

Scans documents into Laser Fiche.

Answer telephone, direct call to appropriate staff.

Retrieve and return answering messages.

Process court mail.

Contributes to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Licenses:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of diverse customers.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of HTE, Laser Fiche, Database and Internet software.

Tools and Equipment Used: PC, telephone, copier, fax machine, Laser Fiche, and various other kinds of office equipment.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and squat while performing various filing tasks. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
